Scizer is a device used in the non-surgical treatment of subcutaneous fat. The device emits ultrasonic beams that concentrate at a depth of 9 or 13 mm (it depends on the operator’s choice according to the type of patient) and cause a rapid increase of the molecules’ vibration. Their mutual collisions determine an increase of temperature above 56°C, and then the death of the affected cells (death by coagulation necrosis). The handpiece is equipped with powerful contact cooling system that helps to protect the surface layers of skin from this thermal increase keeping the skin’s temperature low (this also reduces the painful sensation). The operator divides the area that should be treated into a grid of squares that will be processed in sequence. The performed studies have not shown any modifications of the blood tests (there were no modifications of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood and no rise of the inflammatory markers). The most frequent side effects are mild redness and swelling of the affected area. They will disappear in few hours/days. The results are evident in 2-3 months maximum, after that the session can be repeated.
