The Aluma is a bipolar radiofrequency machine with a handpiece that gently draws the skin inside it. The suction of the skin into the handpiece brings a small portion of skin between two electrodes that then emit energy. The action is carried out upon the exact region of skin drawn in, and therefore precisely where the operator considers it necessary. The dimensions of the handpiece have also been studied to obtain the suction of the amount of skin that is considered optimal in order to obtain maximum results. The Aluma can also be used by a non-medical operator, and is mainly utilised for relaxing the skin of the face, arms and abdomen. Use of this machine can be combined with other more superficial laser treatments, in order to treat the skin at various depths and thereby obtain better results.
